Just seven months after opening the doors to Corsham Bridal Boutique, I have received the most incredible news — I’ve been nominated for The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) by two of my wonderful brides. 💕
To say I was blown away is an understatement. This time last year, I didn’t even have the keys to the boutique. I was still finalising suppliers and had signed up for a wedding fair and styled shoot — without any stock to my name! With a little determination, some careful networking, and the incredible support of my fabulous supplier Wendy Makin, I managed to showcase some beautiful gowns that gave my new business the perfect introduction. In February, I finally opened the doors to my very own bridal boutique.
The past year has been nothing short of a whirlwind. There have been long days, late nights, and plenty of hard work, but every moment has been worth it. Creating a welcoming space where brides can share unforgettable moments with their loved ones, and helping them fall in love with their dream dress, is the most rewarding part of what I do.
While Corsham Bridal Boutique is still new, my journey in the wedding world began years ago. I studied art, design, corsetry, and bra-making, which led me to my first role in a bridal shop in my early twenties. There, I worked as a bridal stylist, learned alterations, and even created bespoke gowns. My career later took me on a different path, but I never lost my passion for sewing or my love for wedding dresses. Deep down, I always knew I would return — and opening the boutique has felt like coming home.
Being nominated for TWIA is more than recognition; it’s a reminder of why I built this business — to celebrate love, to empower brides, and to make every woman who walks through my doors feel truly special.
